Well another day has passed in China for me.
Let's see what to tell about. Well I have some more from
yesterday. After I wrote my email to you I went up to the bar to
read and relax before bed. The bar because my cousin won't let me
smoke in the room. I actually didn't read much, I ended up playing
pool with some Texans and getting propositioned by the bars resident
prostitutes. I thought it was hilarious, specially cause it took
me awhile to figure out what they wanted. The Texans laughed the
entire time, they knew the girls because they live at the hotel and are
there every night. Towards the end of the evening it was a pool
match between American guys and Chinese Prostitutes. Sounds more
interesting than it really was.
So I went to bed at 1AM and got up at 6:30Am, a momentous event in
itself. Then we went and saw the leaning tower of China, not
kidding, it is on something called Tiger Hill. Then we went and
saw a Buddhist temple, I tried to take the Buddha for Jessie but the
monks were to much for my Kung Fu and so the statue remains there
still.
Then we had Chinese food again for lunch. After lunch we
went to a silk factory and I learned more than I ever wanted to know
about worms. The highlights of the tour were the fashion show and
the store. I got a pure silk quilt with silk cover for the
bed and silk pillow cases. Well after the silk factory we went and
visited a garden, it was actually very beautiful if crowded, can't describe
it but will show pictures.
I am actually less paranoid today, now it seems that I am getting
compliments all over the place. A saleslady at the silk store told
me I had beautiful eyes. Two guys at the Buddhist temple wanted
their picture with me, and they didn't try and steal my wallet.
Actually it is a status coup with friends to have an American friend,
guess they will lie and say we are pals, but that is ok. What
else..oh, some people at the garden thought I was a movie star or
something famous, people on my tour kept telling me that people were
staring at me and pointing as if I was a somebody. These Chinese
are crazy.
Well for dinner we had...Chinese food, I am really getting sick
of it. And I am now at the hotel and about to go read for only a
little bit, but not in the bar, no more pool playing hookers. That
and I have to be up at...wait for it...6AM and out of the hotel by 7:30.
Like I said these Chinese are crazy.
